Walking Water
This activity is a wonderful mix of science and art. This site delves into the science of it, but you can just have your kiddos do the activity alone if you would like. It shows how colors blend from primary into secondary, as well as how capillary action works.
It may take a few hours for the water to move, so I would recommend starting this at breakfast and checking it at dinner (or the other way around). Use any similar-sized cups/jars/cans you have available.
This is similar to the Grow a Rainbow activity.
